Where Recovery and Wellness Meet

Principles and Practices

A Quick Guide for Practicing the Principles:

Truth – Practice rigorous honesty in all of your affairs. With love for yourself and others, with neither a blind or critical eye, never over or under extending your energy in any situation or practice. Connect with what is true in each moment.

Hope – Recognize the contentment, peace and comfort of your Higher Power’s guidance. Believe in the value of the healing process.

Surrender – Live and practice with complete faith, allow every experience to unfold naturally. Let go and trust that everything is exactly as it should be.

Courage – Notice every opportunity for self-study. Look inside bravely and admit the truth.

Integrity – Live and practice with pure intentions, fully engaged and genuine.

Willingness – Live with devotion and desire for healing. Be open, willing and ready to experience whatever comes up in your practice and in every area of your life.

Humility – Humble yourself, living mindfully and with a reverent attitude in all of your practices.

Love – Be loving to yourself and others. Be kind, patient and gentle in all things.

Discipline – Stay responsible for your choices, your focus, energy and intentions.

Perseverance – Commit to the moment, to the course of healing you have chosen and to your ongoing practice.

Details and Fees

All physical movement will be led by instructors, certified in their specific fields, to facilitate the energetic practice.  Most meetings are donation based, proceeds are used for facility rental, utilities, upkeep and supplies.  Any remainder will be given to the instructors in appreciation for their gifts and time.  In this way we honor the practice of Karma Yoga and the Seventh Tradition by asking that students pay what they can afford.  The suggested cash donation per class is $10 with a sliding scale of $5 – $15.  If you don’t have five dollars come anyway!  We want you to come when you can and pay when you can.  If you can afford more and value the practice additional donations are greatly appreciated.

Special Event and Training Fees may vary.

Other Practice Options

While the primary focus and example for Miracle in Progress is often based on the correlations between Twelve Step and Yogic Practices there are many other holistic practices explored both in the meetings and in the handbook.  Most of them are very simple, without any relation to specific traditions, many are not even considered “holistic” or physical in nature, but meant instead to provoke thought and provide a starting point. Here are a few general ideas that can be used not only to enhance meetings but to get stagnant energy moving and change your state anytime.

  • Yoga/Qi Gong/Tai chi
  • Tapping/EFT/Acupressure
  • Time in Nature/Walking/Hiking/Jogging/Swimming
  • Music/Chanting/Singing/Dancing/Instrumental Exploration
  • Artistic Expression/Drawing/Painting/Working with clay
  • Writing/Journal/Poetry/Affirmations/Intention Setting
  • Various meditation techniques and energetic healing modalities will be included and further explored as available
